The multi-agency training provided by Hillingdon LSCB offers a broad range of opportunities for practitioners to work together in a learning environment with a common aim of improving children’s safety and wellbeing.¬†

Training & Development

There have been a number of new courses for 2017/18 to develop practitioners learning in specific areas. These are listed in the training schedule below. We hope that you will be able to make full use of our training and take advantage of the opportunities available to strengthen your knowledge and confidence, thereby helping to secure a safe and positive future for all our children.

To access LSCB multi-agency training, you will first need to register for a ‘Learning Zone’ account which can be accessed via the ‘Hillingdon Learning Pool’ link below. Once you have completed this registration process, your login details will be emailed to you within 24 hours and you will then be able to login to Learning Zone and book directly onto LSCB courses with available space.

Introduction to Safeguarding children eLearning

“Introduction to Safeguarding children” E-Learning module is now available via Hillingdon Learning Zone.

This course will help delegates

  • Understand the types of abuse and neglect a young person/child may experience, including domestic abuse, and FGM and how to identify the tell tale signs
  • How to respond professionally if you suspect a child is being abused and or when a child/adult discloses abuse
  • Develop reliable methods of keeping accurate records

Completing this module satisfactorily, meets the pre-course requirements for attendance on the Initial Working Together to Safeguard children courses.

Charging policy

Please note that from September 2015 Hillingdon LSCB introduced a training charging policy. All commercial organisations, including all Hillingdon Schools, Academies and Independent Schools, will be charged a course fee.

From January 2016 all childminders, nurseries, private day care providers, charities and all other agencies are charged a course fee. For organisations who contribute to the LSCB, i.e CNWL/ NHS and Hillingdon Local Authority, the majority of Hillingdon LSCB training is free. For more information please log into learning zone.
